Starting with 36 equal html boxes, I use jQuery to fetch an array of images from Unsplash based around a search term and randomly assign them to points on the grid. I then give each one a pre-defined dimension & filter and transition it in to the viewport.
I also included some basic controls so that images can be deleted from the composition by hovering over the grid and clicking to remove.
