This is the first time I’ve approached a personal site as i would with client work eg. Ideas / Wireframing / Design / Development. Compared to my previous site the layout and, more importantly, the usability has a much nicer feel to it and I think planning first was key to this improvement.
The main new feature is the addition of a blog. the reason for this was to have somewhere to write up my learning of new techniques and technologies and to have somewhere to generally practice my writing.
This idea was really reinforced by a recent list apart article and over the coming weeks I’m going to try and stick to a semi-regular routine of posting write ups to the site.
